Issue: A company used teams of freelancers located throughout the world. They needed to contact the teams instantly and receive replies back as to their availability for other pending jobs.  Due to various constraints a call centre was not appropriate; email was not always available and postal mail too slow.

Solution: Development of an SMS inbound/outbound system to allow the company to send out job requests and receive acknowledgements directly from their project management system.  As a field based team or individual was identified for a particular task, the system would SMS the task to them, they then simply replied a response and the system matched up the request in the project management system, optionally the manager could be alerted via email that a reply had been received.
