Desktop application integrated to web interface for project time recording

Issue: Staff deployed on project work were wasting excessive time keeping track of their workload by using a cumbersome web interface to enter project hours into a tracking system.  The existing web interface was not flexible or configurable enough to support the work flow.

Solution: Development of a desktop time recording application – the application used SOAP to integrate to the web interface (Atlassian JIRA), allowing employees to quickly record time spent on projects or issues without having to login and use a more complex web interface.  The user interface was given a friendly, modern ‘mobile’ look as shown below.
